About me: When you first meet me I'm a little bit reserved. But don't worry, I'll come out of my shell. So what do you need to know? I went to the Aveda Institute so that I could become a cosmetologist. I mix a mean martini—this comes from lots of experience; I'm a bit of a tattoo aficionado—this also comes from experience; and I'm an avid skier—stay out of my way on the slopes.
I have lived in: Denton and Charlotte, North Carolina
A place I'm dying to visit: I can't wait to hit the beaches of Hawaii. The luaus, the fire dancing, the cocktails, the surfers…what's not to like.
My favorite activities: Traveling is one of my passions. All of my friends would say that I've visited a lot of places. Odds are you've probably seen me at the airport. I also enjoy working out, meeting up with friends and trying new things.
Why Emerson Joseph: I wasn't sure where I was going to work. But when the owners of Emerson Joseph approached me with a job offer, I was totally motivated by the people, the concept, and the atmosphere at the grooming lounge. I knew immediately that this was the kind of place that I would enjoy working.

About me: I'm very soft spoken, which is sometimes mistaken for shyness. Once I get to know you, I'm definitely not shy. I love to laugh & I have a great time at whatever I'm doing. I graduated from the Aveda Institute and have been in the industry for 2 years.
I have lived in: Belmont & Mt. Holly, NC
A place I'm dying to visit: I would really love to visit Paris someday. The shopping has to be fantastic!
My Favorite Activities: I love going to my son's little league games. When I'm not cheering him on, I enjoy shopping, hanging out by the pool, & spending time with all my lovely friends.

About me: I'm a 16 year veteran of the hair industry, who was originally trained in both barbering & cosmetology. Although I spent the majority of my career in the cosmetology field learning from such industry leaders as Vidal Sassoon & Fredrick Fekkai; I have always kept my barbering skills sharp.
I have lived in: I grew up on the West Coast; dividing my time between Northern California & Seattle. I moved to Charlotte in 1999 & have enjoyed the city very much.
A place I'm dying to visit: I would love to spend some time visiting both New Zealand & Bali.
My favorite activities: I enjoy sports such as golf & volleyball. IÕm also an avid hunter; both bow & rifle. I also like to fish.
Why Emerson Joseph: I chose Emerson Joseph because I saw a great opportunity to be a part of a new & growing company that well run & professionally handled without all of the attitude of your typical high end salon. Being a veteran in the field, I had never seen a company do such a good job bringing back the art of barbering, but with such a high end & relaxed feel. I knew there would be opportunities for personal growth within the company, & I look forward to my future with Emerson Joseph…

About me: I relocated to the Charlotte, NC area in 2003. Prior to that, for 15 years I worked in Washington DC at the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports for the Department of Health and Human Services. After settling in the South, I decided to start my second career as a nail technician. I graduated from the Charlotte Nail Academy and became a licensed nail technician in 2007. Being a nail technician allows me the opportunity to do two things I truly love - meeting new people and TALKING.
I have lived in: Maryland, California, Virginia, & North Carolina
A place I'm dying to visit: Italy and Costa Rica
My favorite activities: I enjoy playing sports including tennis and volleyball. I am a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan and am currently addicted to watching the UFC, very trashy reality TV, reading, and hosting parties where I can show off my bartending skills. Live reggae music-when I can find it-is a true pleasure. I am happiest spending time with my family, including my two Jack Russell Terriers - Mr. & Mrs. P.
Why Emerson Joseph: Emerson Joseph is the place i love coming to work to everyday. The lounge is masculine and sophisticated, but the vibe is relaxed and fun. The concept is unique and its exciting for me to tell others about the services we offer. Being able to provide pedicures in a private room is especially nice because men who don't consider themselves "that guy" can still enjoy being pampered.

I hail from: Kazan, Russia
About me: I'm originally from Russia, so my background is pretty unique in these parts! I was a big city girl, as Kazan is about three times larger than Charlotte. Everyone always pictures Siberia when I say that I'm from Russia, but Kazan has a climate much like Colorado. It's a beautiful place & the people there are very active. I lived in Russia until I was 13 – I played the piano, danced & did a fair amount of modeling. In 2002, my Mom decided to move to the US, leaving my entire extended family. People say my English is really good…but, my friends back in Russia say it's been at the expense of my Russian. They say I have a southern accent! I finished high school in Charlotte & decided to go to the Aveda Institute to become an esthetician. I love what I do, but when I'm not working, I enjoy swimming for exercise, shopping & hanging out with friends.

A place I'm dying to visit: I would love to visit Spain. I've always enjoyed the crazy Spanish dancing and I absolutely love the language.
My favorite activities: I love playing sports, even though I'm not very good at most. LOL
Why Emerson Joseph: Emerson Joseph is very different, it fits my personality. I first learned about Emerson Joseph when Shelly and Stacy came to the Aveda Institute to introduce their salon & their men's only concept to our class. I knew this was the place I wanted to be.

I hail from: The Queen City – yes, I'm a native of Charlotte!
About me: After pursuing a marketing degree from UNCC, I was still at a loss finding my real passion. My love of the Spa industry began as a child. My Mom would have me rub her back, brush her hair, & even paint her nails. After working for Aveda for several years, I made my hobby my livelihood by obtaining my esthetician license, followed by my massage license. I'm told I have the "Magic Touch." When I'm not at Emerson Joseph, my friends know to find me walking the trails at Whitewater, spending countless hours perusing the isles at Borders, or watching my favorite chick flick at home.
I have lived in: Virginia, Raleigh, Tampa & Charlotte.
I am dying to visit: British Columbia, especially Victoria Gardens & the Falls.
Why Emerson Joseph? While living in Tampa, I had an opportunity to work in an all men's spa; however, my re-location plans preempted that. Now's my chance!

About me: I come from a very large family, most of who still live in & around the Charlotte area. I am married & have three sons, two who live in Charlotte & one who has relocated to California. I have two wonderful granddaughters who are the light of my life. I am very sociable, easy going & enjoy meeting new people. Most of my professional career was spent working in the automotive industry.
I have lived in: Besides Charlotte; Atlanta & Birmingham
A place I'm dying to visit: Australia. It seems to be a fascinating & wonderful country. I especially want to visit the Aboriginal communities. I have a great respect for their history & resilience.
My favorite activities: Spending time with my granddaughters - going to any good Jazz/Blues concert – kicking back at home watching sports.
Why Emerson Joseph: After spending a season providing my services at the Charlotte Bobcat Arena, I knew I wanted to continue to reach a broader customer base in a place where my many years of leather care experience would be appreciated. After meeting with Shelly & learning about the quality/sophisticated services Emerson Joseph offers, I knew I had found the perfect place.

About me: I'm the mother of two active girls & the wife of a media man who is a big fan & regular of Emerson Joseph. After graduating from the University of Arizona (where I was a classmate & friend of Tedy Brushci of the New England Patriots…and yes, a Panther fan!), I worked in sales for the country's largest food company. Marriage & beginning a family brought me to Charlotte where I've worked from home doubling as the financial administrator for a New England consulting firm & personal assistant to a retired executive & friend.
I have lived in: I was born in the Midwest; grew up in Chatham, NJ & Weston, CT. Enjoyed campus life in Tucson, AZ; then settled down (more or less…) here in Charlotte in '97.
My favorite activities: Tennis, golf with my husband, long walks, Panther games, wine tasting & anything with my family.
A place I'm dying to visit: The Mediterranean is at the top of my list.
